At HVDB Studio, the journey of bringing “Cascade of Colour” to life at Kentmere Community Centre has been a collaborative and inspiring endeavour. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a crucial role in making this vision a reality.
In adhering to the brief, we incorporated the colours of the “We Are Seacroft” logo, creating a visual link to the collective projects and buildings around Seacroft. This strategic choice not only ties the Kentmere Community Centre mural into the broader context of the Seacroft community but also serves as a nod to the interconnected nature of the various projects in the area.
While weaving the colours of the “We Are Seacroft” logo into our mural, we also embraced the challenge of giving Kentmere Community Centre its own unique identity. “Cascade of Colour” stands as a distinctive landmark, symbolising the diverse community and array of activities within its walls.
The devil is in the details, and our use of coloured screw caps, matching the hues of the artwork, adds an extra layer of finesse to the finished artwork. It’s these thoughtful touches that elevate the overall aesthetic and showcase our commitment to delivering a truly immersive experience.
Safety was paramount throughout the production process. We consulted with a structural engineer to ensure that the installation met all safety standards, providing not only a visually appealing mural but also one that stands the test of time securely.
Our gratitude goes out to our client, Rachel of Leeds Community Spaces. Rachel’s dedication to community enhancement, along with her invaluable insights and ideas, played a crucial role in shaping the narrative of “Cascade of Colour.” Her continual support, accommodation, and wealth of information were integral to the success of this project.
A special appreciation also goes out to our dedicated installers, John and Lee, whose expertise and attention to detail ensured that every piece of the mural found its place seamlessly. We also extend our thanks to David of ImageCo for his meticulous work in translating our artwork with precision, ensuring that this weather and graffiti proof artwork will stand the test of time.
